Dr. Ramezan earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He is an enthusiastic teacher and has received several awards and recognition for his teaching. Reza is interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, conducting research in the juncture of statistics and neuroscience. He is especially interested in computational statistics, multivariate analysis, applied stochastic processes, multiscale modeling, neuroinformatics and applications of statistics in neuroscience. He has developed statistical methodology for the analysis of neural spike trains, through which he studies neural encoding/decoding problems.
