Dr. Gearhart has published papers in approximation theory, numerical analysis, optimization theory (particularly multiple criteria optimization), mathematical and simulation modeling. He also serves as advisor for the program in Actuarial Science, and as the Coordinator for Student Internships. Dr. Gearhart, along with colleague Greg Pierce, recently obtained funding from NSF to establish the 25-computer Modeling and Simulation Laboratory for the Department.
