The Schwarz-Christoffel Transformation

Chapter 11. Show that the mapping [Graphics:sc12.txtgr1.gif]
maps the upper half plane onto the upper half plane plus an infinite rectangle in quadrants three and four.
The Schwarz-Christoffel formula for [Graphics:sc12.txtgr2.gif] is:

[Graphics:sc12.txtgr4.gif][Graphics:sc12.txtgr3.gif]

Integrate to obtain:

[Graphics:sc12.txtgr4.gif][Graphics:sc12.txtgr5.gif]

This is one, formula for the integral. However, we will use the following form of the integral to continue the computations.

[Graphics:sc12.txtgr4.gif][Graphics:sc12.txtgr6.gif]

The coefficients are [Graphics:sc12.txtgr7.gif], and we obtain

[Graphics:sc12.txtgr4.gif][Graphics:sc12.txtgr8.gif]

A graph for the solution is:

Fluid flow over an infinitely deep ditch.
