Geometric Analysis, Riemannian and Kaehler Geometry
Dr. Murphy obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the National University of Ireland, University College Cork, in 2011, and was recently a Britton Fellow at McMaster University, Ontario, Canada. He lectured in the past across all levels of the undergraduate and masters curriculum, more recently teaching at McMaster classes on ordinary differential equations and Laplace transforms to engineers, as well as multi-variable calculus. His academic experience includes an academic year as a visiting graduate student at UC Berkeley, two years as Visiting Researcher at King’s College, London and two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. Dr. Murphy pursues an active research program in geometric analysis and differential geometry, focusing mainly on Einstein manifolds, Ricci flow and Kaehler and Hermitian geometry.
