Dr. Soto's experience teaching mathematics is broad, having taught at the secondary, community college, and college levels. He has taught most of the courses offered in the high school curriculum including geometry, trigonometry, calculus AB, and calculus BC. At the community college and college levels, he has taught entry-level algebra courses. Dr. Soto has been involved in the professional development of mathematics teachers at the district level – he was a Mathematics Program Specialist in the San Bernardino City Unified School District for two years. He received two teaching awards: one of them at The University of Iowa, and the second one at Sierra Vista High School. Dr. Soto's research interests include representation theory of groups and algebras and their applications, as well as K-12 teachers professional development.
