June 1, 2012: The 3rd
highest point in the lower 48 states (2nd highest in Colorado) is
Mount Massive (14,421 ft).
It is one of 58 peaks in Colorado that
exceeds 14,000 ft, and I’m pursuing a goal over several years
to climb all of them. From a technical perspective, Mount
Massive is not among the most difficult
peaks in the 58 to climb, despite being
just 12 feet shy of the tallest mountain in Colorado.
