During my four years of undergraduate school at the
University of Nebraska, I was very fortunate to be able to live on the 8th floor
of an on-campus dormitory called Harper. Throughout the early 90's, many special
bonds and friendships were born on Harper 8, and now, over a decade later, many
of us are still good friends and in regular contact. These friendships have been
so special to me and others who lived on the floor, and are a superb highlight
of our college experience.
Acknowledging that special connection, we have pledged to keep in touch with
Harper 8 Reunions from time to time. We had one in 2000, before I got a digital
camera. But now, in 2005, I was able to capture a lot of the special people who
lived on Harper 8 in the early 90's on my digital camera.
Below are a bunch of pictures of the Harper 8-ers!
The reunion was held at Mike Krajewski's house in Lincoln. (Thanks, Mike, for
hosting us again at the reunion!) We organized a photo of many (but not all) of
the folks who attended the reunion. Here we are on the front porch of Mike's
house.
Front Row (left to

Back Row (left to

Krajewski, Troy Schepmann,
Jon Knutson, Dave Pinkerman, Sean Hecht, Brad
Cooper, Giles Schildt, Tyler Frost, Nate Myers, Nate Meisgeier, Eric Hofman
On Friday evening, a bunch of us went out to Buffalo Wild
West's Bar and Grill in downtown Lincoln for some catching-up time. Here, Scott
Renard, Eric Hofman, and Joel Macklin are downing some fountain drinks
and....what are those small little cups on the center of the table? We'll have
to ask Renard about those!
Chris Dunham, Dave Pinkerman,
Mike Krajewski, and Tyler Frost, at BWW's...(or is it BWWW's? I never got that
straight!)
Nate (our floor SA) with
his wife Heather, along with another Nate, and Carl. Myers lives in
Seward, just outside of Lincoln, while Meisgeier and Gausman fled the state as quickly as
possible: Kansas City and Des Moines, respectively.

On Saturday, we hung out at Mike's house much of the day,
playing cards and games. Here, in the foreground are Conrad, Jim, and Giles. Giles was showing this group how to play a new
game that he made. Although I don't have direct proof, I heard that they actually finished
this game in a finite (for the non-math people, this means: "not going on forever"...hehe) amount of time. This group could often be found playing
games for days, weeks, or months at a time in the Harper 8 days!
Sean Hecht, Chris Dunham, Quint English, and Troy
Schepmann. These guys and a few others hit Pioneer's Park Golf Course for 18
holes in the morning.
Dave Pinkerman and I stop for a photo, while Nate and Troy chat in
the background. Life isn't really this brown....it's just my attempt to brighten the photo.
Sorry for the artificial lighting :-) Hehe...I guess I'm not really so good at
fixing photos on the computer!
Sean, Troy, Quint and I played a game of pitch in
Mike's basement for old-time's sake. As a bonus, we got to hear about Schep's
"Black Angus Cow" event....hehehe, the funniest thing I ever heard! Be sure to
ask him about it!
Sean, Kevin, Troy, and Quint. Kevin lives in Lincoln,
Sean near Omaha, and Troy in Kansas City. I forgot where Quint lives
nowadays....anybody out there know?
Late Saturday night poker game in Mike's basement.
I lost pretty early on, but Nate had pity on me and didn't make me
pay an "entry fee", so it's all good! Hehe....
The big winner was Bob Morissey (bottom right), who quietly walked
away with everyone's money!
