My El
Dorado High School
Tutoree: Nick Lewis
In Spring 2005, I began tutoring
Nick Lewis, a high school student at El
Dorado.
Nick has been a wonderful student to work with, very responsible and
conscientious. I’ve worked
with him in Algebra, Trigonometry, and Honors Precalculus, and now,
Calculus. Nick has turned into an
outstanding math student.
Nick’s family and I have attended the same church, and it has been
great getting to know all of them.
Recently, I was invited to join them to watch one of Nick’s
basketball games at El Dorado. Nick is on the school’s varsity
basketball team and plays a big role on the team. He starts each game doing the jump ball.

Nick takes a break during their
game against Hamilton.

Unfortunately, as you can see from
the scoreboard, it wasn’t a very competitive game. Nick scored almost as many points as
their opponents in this game.

Thanks, Nick, for letting me join
you for this game, and for letting me be a part of your life. I’ve been so glad to work with you
on math these past 2 years. You’ve
done a great job!
